Ceramic Sculptures by Duong Le Thai

The glazes he creates are derived from the elemental components of that very crust—feldspar, silica, kaolin, chalk, and more. Every instance of oxidation, fusion, and color variation arises from fundamental reactions governed by the natural and chemical laws of our world. The alchemy of fire thus becomes an extension of geology—a studio-based reactivation of processes that, in nature, unfold over entire eras.

Each piece becomes a tangible record of this encounter: an imprint of the earth, nurtured by fire, shaped by hand, and presented to the eye as a fragment of the universe. It also becomes an object of desire—evoking the very emotion he so deeply missed as a young boy.
